hOW WE GOT STARTED

Origins
For many years I was involved in new product development for a large R/C distributor. I had seen a number of unfortunate incidents with newcomers to jets experiencing tip stalls, caused by flying too slowly on the downwind leg of a landing approach and then banking onto the crosswind leg, the models being unable to cope with the combination of lack of airspeed and the increase in wing loading and thus stall speed resulting from the angle of bank.

Idea & Concept
I had been having thoughts about developing a new jet model, and having realised that, at least in the UK, there was a dearth of jets aimed at newcomers, and none that addressed the tip stall issue, I decided that it was time to get something suitable designed.
03.
Design & Production​
Working with a good friend of mine, and then assembling and testing a series of prototype and sample models, development took a couple of years and required almost 100 test flights - although many of these might have actually been for fun!
04.
Sales
Sales of the Helios-45 will commence in late January 2026, when our first shipment is due to arrive.
